Cold Moon December 15, 2024
It’s our last Full Moon before the Winter Solstice. The Winter Solstice Moon takes the highest path along the sky and is above the horizon longer than any Moon, making it the longest night of the year. December’s Full Moon is named the Cold Moon representing the drop in our temperatures. This Moon is also known as the Long Night Moon (Mohican), as it rises during the “longest” nights of the year, around the solstice.
Full Moons illuminate things that may or may not be working for us. I think of this time as a release or the letting go phase during our lunar journey. As a Full Moon is capable of raising the tides it can also raise our emotions and intuitive abilities. This makes it the perfect time to celebrate with a Full Moon Ritual. As the surface of the moon wanes, so can our energy around anything you wish to release. Create some time to get grounded and reflect on anything that no longer serves you. This can be people, places, things, limiting beliefs, habits, etc.
Our last Full Moon of the year lands in Gemini and our Sun is in Sagittarius. This Gemini energy is ruled by the 3rd House which highlights curiosity, connecting with others, & communication. Be open to the possibilities of learning something new. This can be a good time to pick up a new book or maybe look into taking a new course. The Twins encourage us to get curious, take short trips and understand how our communication can change our world.
With every Full Moon we have the polarity of the Sun. The Sun is currently in Sagittarius. Sagittarius asks us to fuel a broader mindset especially when it comes to the quest to understand life. Sagittarius offers us new possibilities, new discoveries and a passion for travel and adventure. Jupiter Rules Sagittarius bringing lots of luck, wisdom and growth. We are offered an opportunity to expand our minds and our hearts.

As the Cold Moon rises I set the intention to connect with the power of Source. I release with love anyone in my past for perceived wrongs. I am proud of how far I have come.
