It’s our first New Moon after the Summer Solstice! When the moon is new our Sun and Moon align in the same Zodiac sign. Some signs guide us forward while others guide us inward. Our New Moon in Cancer is ruled by the Moon which calls for inner contemplation. While seeking guidance it may be best to look internally versus looking outside for answers. Carl Jung once said “Your vision will become clear only when you look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens”.  

A Cancer New Moon represents home & family. She encourages us to remember where we come from and where we belong. The theme of home isn’t always a physical place but rather an emotional and spiritual connection with ourselves that finds a positive home vibration for our soul. Cancer’s energy, like the moon, is divinely feminine. She teaches us to get in touch with our feelings. For some this can feel a bit like an emotional roller coaster. Don’t forget to keep protective boundaries in place at this time. If you are a homebody like myself, spending quality time with family (or chosen family) can be ideal. Check in with your loved ones. Nourish yourself  and those around you.  

This new moon is wonderful for do-overs or getting back on track! During this darkside of the moon lean into the void of new beginnings. Get back to healthy eating, meditating, fun hobbies, whatever has gotten away from you, pick it up again.
