Sturgeon Blue Moon August 19, 2024

This Full Moon is named the Sturgeon Moon due to the giant Sturgeon fish available for fishing in the Great Lakes during this time of the summer. This August Full Moon is a rare and special one full of powerful energy because it is a Blue Moon! Although the Moon isn’t actually blue it is called a “Blue” Moon because we have four Full Moons in a single season. The phrase “once in a Blue Moon” refers to something very rare and remarkable.  

While the Sun in Leo is focused on fun and creative expression the moon in Aquarius urges balance between fun and the needs of our friends. This can be a great time to get in touch or reconnect with friends. But for some it could mean a time when we find friendships running their course. Take some time to reflect on this. Aquarius rules the 11th house which represents hopes, dreams and wishes! Also known as The House of the Thing Wished For. This is where abundance is found, where wishes become reality. 

Sturgeon Blue Moon Healing: I call upon the Sturgeon Blue Moon to clear any stagnating energy. During this lunar cycle I find forgiveness and healing to move on from any past relationships that do not serve me. I trust that releasing anything that is not for my highest good will create room for something even better! The Blue Moon teaches me that rare and magical opportunities are within reach.
