Dia de Muertos Days of Observance

Dia de Muertos Days of Observance

As I am studying more about the old ways of Dia de Muertos I was so surprised to learn there are specific days of observance leading up to the well known date of November 2nd. I feel this knowledge isn’t very well known but so important.

Days of Observance:

  • October 27th. Honor those who died alone. Those without family to remember them.

  • October 28th. For those who passed in an accident or unexpected way.

  • October 29th. Observance for those who died by drowning.

  • October 30th-November 1st. Remembrance of infants, children and others not able to be born.

  • November 2nd. Tribute to adults.

  • November 3rd. Removal of ofrenda or altar.
