3 Grounding Techniques

Grounding can be a wonderful practice to help release stress, anxiety & negativity. Being grounded means to be fully in your body & being aware of your surroundings. Throughout our busy days we can begin to feel unbalanced. Grounding ourselves can help us get centered again by being more present in our body and connected with the earth.

  1. Spend time in nature. Studies have shown that spending time outdoors can be beneficial to our health. Just 20 minutes outside can reduce our stress hormones.

  2. Practice Mindful Meditation. Don't worry if your mind wanders while meditating, just acknowledge your thoughts without judgement and come back to your breath.

  3. Create Grounding Cords. Feel your feet on the floor or on the earth. Imagine a grounding cord of any color & envision this cord or cylinder of light connecting you to the Earth's core & up into the cosmos. As above, so below. Some people imagine roots like a tree connecting the bottom of their feet into the earth. If you aren't a visual person you can simply intend this grounding to be.
