Sunbathing
Sunbathing
When done safely sunbathing can have amazing benefits to our overall well being. The beams from the sun can help regulate natural rhythms in our bodies, without it we become fatigued. The natural healing properties the Sun offers us is immeasurable. Sunlight supports regulation of melatonin production. Melatonin is essential for our pineal gland (third eye) of our brain to balance our sleep wake cycle. Sunbathing helps eliminate toxins from our bodies, aids in strong bones and teeth, improves blood circulation and can even heal skin disorders.
Tips on Sunbathing
Be cautious during strong sunlight hours. This isn’t meant to be a sweat lodge! If you start to sweat right away it may be too hot, be cautious of overheating. Times of the day that are best to sunbathe will depend on where you are in the world. It’s been said watching the Sunrise is the best rays you can catch. It’s magical for your circadian rhythm and good for eye health. In the winter aim for 20-30 minute durations. During the summer cut it down to 10-15 minutes.
