EFT
What is EFT tapping?
Emotional Freedom Techniques (also known as "EFT" or "Tapping") is an alternative acupressure therapy treatment. EFT uses gentle tapping of fingers on acupressure meridians to resolve energy imbalances. Similar to how acupuncture uses needles to apply pressure to energy points. EFT uses fingertip tapping to apply pressure.
According to it's developer, Gary Craig, "If we carry around anger, grief, guilt and traumas, it shows up physically." Over time these imbalances can cause sickness and possibly lead to disease.
EFT tapping is an authorized treatment for war veterans with PTSD. Tapping promotes physical and emotional healing. Additional benefits can help with anxiety, depression, physical pain, and even insomnia.
Practitioners aid clients in developing mind and body awareness by using positive affirmations and tapping sequences that support a natural healing process.
The first time I heard of Tapping was while watching the Heal Documentary. It was used to help aid in a past trauma, watching emotional release the client experienced made me so curious about this therapy. Then I got to catch Jennifer Partridge's "Tap into Healing" course and I fell in love! She gave examples of meridian points to help move stagnant energy. Ever since I use Tapping weekly. Usually on days I am running errands and find myself with low energy. A little self-tapping goes a long way! It really helps wake me up and shifts my mood.
EFT tapping meridian points:
top of your head
eyebrow
side of the eye
under the eye
under the nose
chin
beginning of the collarbone
under the arm
Stimulating meridian points through self-tapping has vastly reduced my stress and negative emotions. Have you tried tapping? I would love to hear your thoughts!
